"Fasting is a Powerful Thing"

The following e-mail was received today:

Well, the second week of training has gone by. Actually didn't go by too bad. Little by little, [my companion] is learning. Just patience and faith is what I need to keep going. The mission is just that though. Just many many trials of faith to make you stronger. We were able to have some good lessons throughout the week. He´s a really cool kid too, so that makes it better. 

This week we decided to do a fast to help out one of our investigators and also to help out our area. When we went to the investigators house to teach, she wasn't there, and she wasn't even going to be in town for Sunday....so that kinda blew...but our week went by very well. It showed me two things. That fasting is a powerful thing. The Lord will really bless us with we want and need, and also if something doesn't work out, then it is because it wasn't suppose to work out. Then we can move on and confidently say we did absolutely everything to help. No use in stressing over something you have no power over. Which is...the free will of others...sometimes I wish I could change that...haha. 

Other than that we were able to keep ourselves busy and work with what we had. When things get tough, sometimes a small sacrifice will really help out. Everything else is going good here. Hope that all is well.
